Coprolite is the formal name for any fossilized excrement. This specimen is from a dinosaur that lived perhaps 50 million years ago. Despite its source, coprolite is considered a gemstone, as it is comprised of primarily agatized material. It takes a wonderful polish and has incredible color and pattern.
